NIB Candy & Chocolate partnered with Three Y Flexible Packaging PLC to develop high-quality flexible packaging solutions for their confectionery products. The client required packaging that would not only preserve the freshness and quality of candy and chocolate products but also enhance shelf visibility in competitive retail environments.

Our objective was to design and manufacture durable, visually appealing, and food-safe packaging that protects delicate confectionery products from moisture, oxygen, and external contamination. At the same time, the packaging needed to showcase the brand with vibrant graphics and strong shelf appeal.

By combining advanced rotogravure printing technology, multilayer film structures, and strict quality control processes, our team developed customized packaging materials that support product protection, brand recognition, and efficient production for the client.

Strategy Breakdown

Our process began with a detailed consultation with the NIB Candy & Chocolate team to understand their product characteristics, packaging requirements, and brand identity. Confectionery products require packaging that protects taste, texture, and freshness while remaining attractive to consumers.

1. Product & Packaging Analysis

Our technical specialists first analyzed the client's product range, including chocolate bars and candy items. Based on this analysis, we recommended a multilayer flexible packaging structure using BOPP, PET, and PE materials that provide excellent barrier protection and sealing performance.

2. Artwork Preparation & Print Optimization

Once the packaging structure was determined, our design and prepress team worked with the client’s branding assets to prepare high-resolution artwork for rotogravure printing. This step included color calibration, layout optimization, and ensuring that design elements such as logos, product information, and nutritional labels appear clear and consistent.

3. Rotogravure Printing

Using advanced rotogravure printing technology, we produced vibrant and detailed graphics on flexible film materials. This printing method ensures consistent color reproduction, fine detail resolution, and long production runs without quality degradation.

4. Film Lamination

After printing, the films were laminated to combine multiple material layers into a single high-performance structure. Lamination improves durability, moisture resistance, and oxygen barrier properties while maintaining flexibility for packaging operations.

This process ensures that chocolate and candy products remain fresh and protected throughout transportation and storage.

5. Slitting & Conversion

The laminated rolls were then processed through precision slitting machines to convert them into the required roll sizes suitable for the client's packaging equipment. Our advanced slitting technology ensures accurate dimensions, smooth edges, and consistent roll tension.

This step ensures smooth operation during high-speed packaging processes at the client’s production facility.

6. Quality Inspection
